Facing Death

From Santa Clarita Daily Photo

Unfortunately, over the weekend I attended the funeral of my friends daughter. I think this picture exemplifies what many of us will eventually face; so when I took this picture I was thinking of how beautiful this rose once was, and that is the picture we all keep on mind of what it was, not of what it becomes. The fog on the background, I think makes an eerie juxtaposition of what we cannot see.

The Hills around Santa Clarita

Here are some of the mountains surrounding the Santa Clarita Valley, and the SC river. With some special adornments. This is fence, like always is to keep people safe, from falling and drowing into the river.

Unfortunately one of the things I really dislike about leaving in Santa Clarita, is that I have to commute 42 miles to work, but it also makes it worth taking pictures like this early in the morning; as you will see on my postings you will notice that a lot of the pictures will be taken from the fwys, and streets; leaving in this city makes you way too dependent of you automobile.

Looking for Oil

I took this picture on my way home, there are several oil drills (this are known as Pumpjacks ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pumpjack ). I wonder if this oil stays in California or if it goes to the middle east (lol).
